**Q: Can this be used in a microwave?**
A: I have a couple of these in different brands. One has wire tying the laps together and I can't recall which one it is. If it's 100% bamboo then I don't see why it couldn't be used in the microwave. Other than the fact that you're not steaming at that point. Kinda defeats the whole purpose, if you ask me.

A: It's literally self cleaning.
Hot water and steam will kill all bacteria, if you're still concerned then I'd take a small bristle brush and gently scrub

It's nicely made and has good structure to it, steams really nicely in the wok or a pan that can fit it and steams evenly too. It's very easy to use and not heavy at all and not too big so that it can store well.
