United Artists A legendary studio of independent production and classic movies

A solid reference book of all of the titles that were distributed by the film studio United Artists from 1919 to 1985. Originally founded by Charlie Chaplin, D.W. Griffiths, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford United Artists went on to produce a rich collection of classic movies from High Noon (1952), Some Like It Hot (1959), The Apartment and The Magnificent Seven (both 1960) and West Side Story (1961) ,Woody Allen to Rocky and the James Bond franchise. This book features black and white photographs for every single film and is only spoiled slightly by the author Ronald Bergan's harsh opinions and often sneering comments, which otherwise is a definitively superb chronicle of one the most creatively daring studios in the history of film.
