Use a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm cable. I bought a short 6 inch cable for less clutter and rest my phone next to the recorder. I record audio off YouTube, but you could use Spotify, Pandora or other sources. A lot of other answers are confusing because the recording you get isn't perfect. It records to blank tapes in mono. Yes it records phone to tape just fine. As far as quality, that's another decision. Happy shopping. **Q: is it eletric & battery** A: Yes. Runs on both AC and battery. **Q: Want to purchase a recorder for my elderly father to tape his memoirs. Would this be a good find?** A: yes. there is not much out there anymore when it comes to tape recorders. Everything is turning digital **Q: can I plug this into my computer?** A: When recording a mono player to a your computer, use a mono to mono 3.5mm (1/8") phone cable. This will allow you to record the single audio channel from the cassette recorder to the computer's stereo with the same signal for both the left and right channels. You should also be able to set the recording software to record in mono. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good *by S***R on 8 November 2021* Brought last month, so far good ### ⭐ Rubbish *by M***L on 12 December 2025* Not working sound is not coming ### ⭐⭐ Cassette player not working *by D***T on 11 July 2026* Bakwaas not working ## Frequently Bought Together - JENSEN® Cassette Player/Recorder - Maxell UR 90 Normal Bias Blank Audio Recording Cassette Tape, Low Noise, 90 Minute Recording Time, 5 Pack - Maxell 108527 Optimally Designed Flat Packs with Low Noise Surface 90 Min Recording Time Per Cassette, One Color, One Size --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/95830511-jensen-mcr-100-cassette-recorder-player](https://www.desertcart.no/products/95830511-jensen-mcr-100-cassette-recorder-player) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
