What's the maximum size panel I can use with this controller?

100 Watts. You need to add 20% headroom. A 100 (watts solar panel) divided by 12 (battery voltage) equals 8.33 multiplied by 1.20 (20%) equals 10 (solar charge controller amperage)

Do I need to run my load through the controller, or can it go directly to battery? What are the advantages of running through the controller?

I'm afraid several have misunderstood the question. Without a low-voltage disconnect, the load connections on the controller are provided merely for connection convenience. It should be the same as connecting your load directly to the battery. There is no low-voltage protection either way. Unless you purchase the unit that contains the LVD

Morningstar controllers are manufactured in a fully automated world-class ISO 9001 facility in Taiwan.

Will this work with my 160w panels on my motorhome

yes it will works, because the solar panel will produce about 10 A/h
