I had problems with them turning off automatically when the sound stops. I even had one sub-woofers internal amp fail because it was on 24/7. Now I can flip a switch on the equipment rack and they turn on or off. I did notice the inclosed instructions say the relay is NC or normaly closed. The instructions also state the relay closes when 12volts is applied. See photos of instructions. My setup works the way I wanted and expected it too. When there is no 12volts supplied too the relay the load is OFF. Apply 12volts and the load turns on. Review: Works fine. - I used this to modify a Behringer amplifier to have a 12V turn on from my Pioneer Atmos receiver. Worked perfectly for that task. Yes, you can do it easily or more accurately. the easy way is to use 2 or 3 foam pads stacked on each other and attach to the back and then the metal box. This is a once and done method. The more service able way is to get some small 1" long bolts that will fit into the 4 holes on the corners, and bolt it to the metal box, using a piece of cardboard or stiff material to attach on the back and use 1/2" spacers or nuts to assure that the back of the PC board is above the metal back at least 3/8". **Q: Can this relay be used with a Arduino Uno or Nano?** A: Not directly. This relay requires 12v to switch. Arduino only handles 5v. You can use a transistor but the simplest solution is to find a 5v version **Q: Can you use relay be used to switch my dc power from my solar panels to ac to my water heater element** A: I believe it can. I used mine to start a sup pump in the basement in case water flooded the place. I wired to a sensor float and then to the pump. I have a 12 volt battery to provide the power for the switching. **Q: says 30A @240, so can I put 15A @110v load on this ?** A: As the electrical theory goes: Watts = Amps x Volts Examples: 10 Amps x 120 Volts = 1200 Watts 5 Amps x 240 Volts = 1200 Watts So when you do math you will find that 65.4545~ Amps x 110 Volts = 7200 Watts. Which is the same amount of Watts when you do the math 30 Amps x 240 Volts = 7200 Watts. So 15A at 110 volts would be barely using the capacity of this relay. Do wish the screw terminals were bigger. *by N***6 on April 1, 2023* Worked fine out of the box. Small / compact. Wish the screw terminals were bigger to support a standard lug. On this unit I had to use the smaller lugs (which I had on hand). Because i used this as an interface with my Honeywell Vista 20P, trigger 17 (Programmable Output) for my alarm siren / bell / accessories.... I needed a reply that did not have an optical sensor.... just a straight contact to the relay and low current consumption rating on the coil. The Vista 20P has limited output for trigger 17 (limit to max 100ma).... so I also removed one leg of the small led on the board to not light up. You can add a led on the output of the relay contact if you really need a led to show you when the relay is activated. This saved about 5 ma which reduced my limit on trigger 17 output. What is nice about this is the fact I did not have to spend another $100 bucks for a honeywell add-on power supply that only supported 1.5 Amps, and a honeywell relay board. By connecting the output of trigger 17 to this relay directly, then using a separate battery and power supply to support the Wiper/NO contact loads on the output side.... I am able to run up to 30 Amps if desired .... but really only using about 5 amps at this time for everything. This relay board also has a nice large value capacitor across the coil, and I recall a diode as well... This helps with any spikes from the coil and/or reverse current when the relay disengages.... the spike can effect sensitive item (chips). I had no problems with this replay on my Vista 20P board.
