I had somehow missed the Dire Straits to Mark Knopfler transition but in my defense it was during the child rearing, husband balancing, job working few decades. I have my work cut out for me as I see he has been very busy. There is an interestingly diverse set of songs which I wasn’t sure I liked together but now love the flow! A couple of songs are down right sexy, some are light and airy, some are historical but they all deal with the human condition. And then of course there are those fingers on the strings! I love the album and will be getting some of his earlier ones. Review: Another Great Album - Yet another great outing from Mark Knopfler. I pre-ordered the MP3 version and then when the Deluxe version was released I purchased the missing tracks. It was well worth it as Drover's Road is one of my favourite songs on the release. I've already booked tickets for his tour. For those of you have not seen Mr. Knopfler perform live....you really don't know what you're missing. A group of outstanding musicians who all seem to love what they are doing. I wish people would stop comparing the newer albums to Dire Straits. Dire Straits disbanded in the mid '90s. Get over it. I loved Dire Straits but I've gotten older since they disbanded. It is like most of his other solo work and even better than some of it. It came in a cardboard package, which seems a bit odd to me.
