Review: Wonder tablets - No matter what I did the algea kept growing...this was my last ditch effort before returning my fish to the fish store. I was amazed at the results in 24 hrs. Highly recommend for out of control algea issues. BTW my fish were not affected at all during this process either. I tried everything even changing tank water. My tank is still SPOTLESS. There isn't a speck of algae in this tank, the aquarium pebbles are shiny and colorful like they're brand new, my decorations are like brand new. I haven't had to add more tablets or anything. So - despite the fact I thought for sure this was useless, it's actually been a saving grace and the best choice I could have made for my tank. I had five fish (2 dalmatian mollies and 3 skirt tetras, one of which is 7 years old) and not a single one got sick or died or showed any irritation from this product either. I've posted pros & cons below to help make your decision simple. Pros 1) It's cheap 2) It makes my tank look great, and does a good job of getting rid of algae 3) It doesn't change the color of my water Cons 1) I don't like that you have to remove the carbon filtration 2) I wish there were more tablets in the box. This box treats 80 gallons of water. Just depends on how much you need 3) I'm not 100% sure of how safe this product is for the fish. This may sound ridiculous, because my fish look fine, but I wonder if this increases their likelihood of getting cancer, or other diseases long term. The box does say the product is a known carcinogen to the state of California. And there are a bunch of scary warnings on the back about how it's illegal to use it for any other purposes than as described on the packaging. I guess they don't want you to poison people with it? It hasn't killed any of my fish though. Other helpful info: Usually takes a week before the full effect kicks in. Also, only seems to clear my aquarium for a month or two. Guess if you leave the lights on too long, the algae always is gonna find it's way back. Overall, when I'm looking to rid my aquarium of algae, this is my go to product.
