LOUVRE: ALL THE PAINTINGS

Just awesome....nd awsome nd awsome......nd awesome...If u buy this book you don't need to go to the museum.... Just beautiful. U can see the museum in your own place. The photos are small in size but clear. Descriptions r good nd understandable....But I don't get the DVD with this book.

A wonderful book. This book allows you to look at images of the beautiful paintings in the Louvre, which is a delightful experience for anyone who appreciates art.

Wonderful book

Cover of the book was torn.

It was a bummer, but the fact is Louvre has 30k paintings so digitalizing them at high resolution would be very costly hence, they've done it at low resolution. So for art lovers this book doesn't hold water.Note: the sample version has very high quality, but the book pales in comparison.

Poor product. Torn dust cover. Crumpled cover. Box torn

I bought all three books of this series from Black Dog & Leventhal. I have to return "The Vatican, all the paintings " for occasional poor printing in the book. The book "Florence, all the paintings" is absolutely stunning and this book "Louvre, all the paintings "is very close to that standard. But before buying this book I was quite tensed as there were so many negative reviews about this book. The main concerns were about the small size of the photos and the poor print quality. First of all I want to make it clear that very few books on painting can match this book when quality of print is considered. It is true that there are many small photos of paintings but this is quite natural when you consider the fact that over 3000 works are there in this book of 800 pages. But it is also true that a substantial number of them are printed quite large and the details of the smaller ones are also clearly visible because of the high quality printing. Lastly, although this is not the ultimate book on Louvre you want to possess you have to have this jewel in your collection.

It is impossible for some one to hope to see all the paintings in the Louvre, up close. So this has to be the next best thing. Beautiful print. Good binding. Definitely recommend

What a book! I'm Attaching a photo so you can see how thick this book is. It is quite heavy so you will need to enjoy it while it rests on a desk in front of you. It is not only pictures of the famous paintings at the Louvre, but it is text heavy with descriptions, history, context, and wonderful comparisons. It looks amazing in my collection of art and history books. It isn'tt kid friendly due to the nature of the works, so that's something to be aware of. I do wish their were more large images and some additional full page artworks. Other than that, I'm amazed and it is so great. It also includes a map of the actual Louvre which even shows where each painting is located inside. So you can study the key map and eventually go see the paintings in the actual museum.

O livro é grande, pesado, mais se 700 páginas! A impressão é excelente, a qualidade do papel também. Melhor comprar online do que durante a viagem devido ao tamanho e peso. O envio deixou a desejar.

For an art lover a must have

Great book for collectors. Helps to have been there. The book is heavy, as in weight.
