Is this specifically for ashing only or can it be used as an actual spittoon for dip without damaging the product and with easy clean?

The overall dimensions make it more of an ashtray. The product does look like it could handle being a spittoon , however if placed on the floor it would be a small target to hit. I am using it as a decorative piece only.

Can you put sand in it?

Sure you can out whatever you wish in to it

Can the rests hold a size 60 ring cigar?

Hello, yes this will hold a 60 ring gauge cigar.
