Peace of mind for restless little ones — worth every penny! With two young children (a baby and a toddler who hates anything near their ears), this Braun Sensian 7 thermometer has been a total game-changer. I’ve tried a few cheaper thermometers over the years, but none have come close to this one in terms of accuracy and ease of use. The non-contact option is a lifesaver when the baby is asleep — it’s possible to check their temperature without waking them up. The Age Precision feature is surprisingly helpful; it makes interpreting temperature much easier since “normal” can vary depending on age. Setting the age range and seeing the colour-coded display (green, yellow, red) makes it simple to know whether to worry, even in the middle of the night when half-asleep. It also doubles as a food or bath thermometer, which I didn’t expect to use much but actually do — especially for bottles and bath water. The readings are quick (literally a second or two), consistent, and clear even in dim light thanks to the backlit screen. The only minor downside is that it’s a bit bulkier than expected, but that’s a small trade-off for the reliability. Accurate readings are much more important than a slim design. If you’re looking for something fast, accurate, and child-friendly, this is absolutely worth it. The product on its own is working fine, I like the option of measuring the temp of the liquid but somehow I feel like the temperature isn’t always accurate (as my baby would have a low grade fever and thous would not pick it up, obviously because if your body cools down through the sweat and skin) anyway, it works For the night measures when I don’t want to wake him up. The sound can be turned off unlike on other ones

I bought this in february 2019. My two year old happened to be sick when it arrived. This thermometer was reading 2 degrees lower then Our Braun underarm thermometer and our GPs Braun tempanic thermometer. I returned it hoping it was a faulty model. Tested a few times on us all when no one sick and it was fine - out by 0.3-0.5 of a degree but fine for purpose (I wanted a thermometer for when my child was asleep and Ill). Just a couple of weeks ago my child was ill again with a temp of 40.4 (April 2019). This thermometer was consistently reading 38.4-38-8. Our underarm, tempanic and doctors tempanic all found her temp to be much higher, verging on dangerously high and requiring immediate attention. My conclusion is there is an issue with this thermometer and how it reads when there is clamminess associated with fever. Wiping the forehead doesn’t assist, and if it did it would devalue the need for a non touch thermometer. I’m very confident in my technique using this thermometer as I have used similar in my professional life. Great thermometer, used for the whole family. Seems pretty accurate. Good quality, easy to use (if you remember to remove the lens cap!). Super fast, and easy to read. Good value

Bath water and fevers - perfect little gadget

Readings are accurate, and it's much easier to use than an in-ear thermometer. Using it on adults and children over 8. As I don't have children up to 36 months, I've turned off the Age Range feature (set it to +36 months), but it took me a while to figure out that this could be done, and until then it was a bit annoying having to set the age range each time. But I guess that's my fault really. It's very easy to operate, and the display is clear and easy to read, with the colour coding very helpful. It's a bit pricy, but worth it for the ease of use over an in-ear or under-tongue/armpit thermometer.

Every time you turn it on it goes through a very slow tutorial, flashing the one setting option you need to choose (age of person you’re measuring) at you. This tutorial lasts for eternity. It’s impossible to tell when the buttons start working while this flashing is going on, and the button you need to press flashes the same UI element, so you end up confused and pressing the button repeatedly until you’re sure you can control it. The product could just remember your last setting. Once this extremely basic setting has been taught to you again and set again, you can take the temperature. It seems you need to zap them right between the eyes for consistent measurements, which isn’t always easy. Not to mention the device needing to have been in the room with the subject for ~10 minutes to give an accurate reading. You end up doubting the thermometer, And zapping multiple times. And doing it again a few minutes later, going through the tutorial again. It does work, but it’s very annoying they’ve made it work like this.

It's not doing a spectacular job at being consistent - and every time you'll move it you'll get a different result. I suggest being as close as possible to what you're measuring, to get the closest results to reality possible...
