These cutters have about the same ease of cutting as my 8” knipex diagonal cutters—but they will not handle anywhere near the same materials, thickness, or abuse that my Knipex will… they also cost 1/8th as much (mine are the insulated pair). I wanted a compound action cutter that would be easier on my carpal tunnel than my Knipex, and knew that was an uphill fight to find something better. The NWS/Felo Fatastico Plus cutters are vastly superior as compound action cutters. They cut most things easier than it is to compress the spring on these cutters without cutting anything. Well worth the money. So that leaves these… what they are are really good and well-made cutters for this price point. Saying that in general usage they cut as nicely as same-sized Knipex for lighter tasks is honestly really saying something for a $10 cutter though. Bought Channel lock brand as both Crescent and Craftsman is now China crap. BUY Channel Lock as they are 7 dollars more and not junk **Q: will these cut a saltwater grade fishing hook?** A: Yes - in a heartbeat! These are 8 or 9" and if it just for cutting finishing hooks, a good 6" set will be perfect and easily stow-able in a tackle box. **Q: Are these pliers spring loaded, aloowing them to open up completely without assistance? If so how strong is the spring? Will my hand get tired w/ use?** A: The pliers are a 1/3 Lighter Than Standard Pliers, Reduces Fatigue **Q: Is this plier/snipper made in Taiwan (R.O.C.) or in China (mainland) ?** A: Mine are just marked Crescent with the part number PS5429C. The quality of the cutter is such I doubt it is from China. Mine keep getting stolen they are such good cutters.
