Review: Forget a proper scope, this is better - These great little units are night and day compared to an old fashioned oscilloscope. Initial setup is 5 minutes and the software interface is intuitive. There are pre built data blocks for decoding serial devices such as can bus, rs485 etc. It's usb powered and can be used everywhere. I have used this on stepper motors, encoders, canbus systems, modbus rtu decoding and re-pagaging using custom software. I initially bought for work then ended up buying a few for personal use at home to decide some one-line comms from diesel heaters! The function list is great, and the scaling is always set pretty good with little adjustment needed. Good tool for anything from casual DIY to industrial communication reverse engineering.

I purchased this to diagnose problems with the computer control system on my cars. This is about the cheapest way that you can get into a scope and since I’m not doing this professionally, it’s thousands less than the better model scopes, but will give the same results.
