Red Kap Men's Slash Pocket Jacket

The best thing about this jacket: Not bulky but warm and the fit. Worn this two weeks straight now. I am 6' 6" and have always needed an extra large to get the sleeves to be long enough but in reality, I would take a large. So I ordered a Large Tall and it fits perfectly. Warmer than your lighter windbreaker jackets but not heavy like your snow jacket. Light but warm. I was at a gas station getting gas on a windy night and was surprised at how I did not feel the chill on my upper body. There is one thing I don't care for but not a deal breaker for me. The cuffs have buttons but I don't use them as even the one that has the largest opening, I can't slide my hand through (I would have to unbutton every time to take off). So I just leave it unbuttoned.

Love this jacket, at 5'11"/260lbs the XXXL fits very comfortably over XXL clothing, not tight or baggy, just right, when purchased "on sale" it's a great Eisenhower style jacket, my 3rd Red Kap purchase, best gear for working Americans. BTW, Amazon depiction of brown color option is incorrect, not milk chocolate or UPS brown. Red Kap brown is dark like dark chocolate or fresh ground coffee beans, very pleasing alternative to black or blue. Check the Dickies brand dark brown, it's the same color.

Well made, the black looks pretty elegant for a canvas jacket, and its true to size.

I received my first jacket at my job. 7 years of being my go to jacket, it has been great spring and fall. Winter time on top of a nice hoodie and thermal shirt, you're good to go. Not overly thick but that's what I like most. It is still plenty warm and blocks wind and light rain. It is comfortable enough to become my cats favorite nap spot so I'll take her word on that. For 7 years of use, I still use it, have only had to replace 2 plastic buttons over the years, both on right sleeve which I use more, so that's understandable. Plenty of other buttons on jacket you don't really need so use one of those for the important one if it breaks. I wash it in washing machine and dry in dryer, nothing fancy just throw it in with other clothes. It is actually remarkable how well it has held up, which inspired me to order my own without the work insignia or my name sewn on. And in a color I wanted. I checked the label on my work coat, saw Red Kap, and started my Amazon search to find the right one (slash pocket jacket) I already knew a large fit me perfect (6' 0" 165lbs) and honestly the price was about 1/3 of what I expected, as it has outlasted way pricier jackets (Carhartt). Only improvement would be a zipper pocket on the inside since slash pockets have a habit of spilling my phone but I can work around that. Redd Kap has gained a faithful fan, may not buy too much since they last so long, but will recommend to anyone anytime. Heck, look at the photos, blue is 7 years old and grey is my new one. Almost no difference after A LOT of use.

This is the best lightweight jacket you can buy. The best at being light but keeping your warm. Most automotive shops have this jacket with their logo/badge on it and their uniform color. This jacket could use an inside pocket or two, but that's not a legitimate reason to complain. This jacket is good for work and for casual wear. It resists dust and oil better than any other jacket I have tried. It also looks great when washed and washes easily in the washer. It is a polyester blend, so it does not shrink. Like all clothes, I wash before wearing, and I recommend you do for this because it will soften the cotton portion of the material. It also will remove any chemical smells to make the jacket obviously smell better. I could sleep in this jacket it is that comfortable. I cannot recommend this jacket enough. If it had inside pockets, then this would be the perfect jacket. I would even wear it in the summer for my EDC if it had inside pockets.

Quality seemed good but the jacket was to bulky and bunched up around the shoulders, had someone I know who liked it and wanted it so did not return.

Great work jacket and looks great as well. Classic design. Holds up to real work.

This jacket is awesome, especially for the price. It's very simple with no bells and whistles. If Vladimir Lenin were alive today [and then died again, probably] he would be proud to be re-buried in this fine, workingman's garment. Sizing is dead on, I would not advise a long size unless you are over 6' 2'' or have some kind of long-torso'd inferiority complex and/or you are built like Shrek. The thin, quilted lining allows for you to wear your favorite hoodie underneath while still being able to get the jacket off with limited ease. This jacket may not be your cup of tea if you tend towards a higher opinion of yourself [I.E: you think Syria had it coming, or you think reality-show stars make fine world leaders]. I bought it in black to reflect my mood and to showcase my admiration for a different "Man in Black." I mean, if you don't like Johnny Cash you really have no business buying this light-duty coat in the first place, I would suggest something in the way of a members only jacket with pink lapels and an eagle on the back. That might suit you better. Let's see.. machine washable so that's nice, color stays nice and dark.. also like my mood. Look if you're still reading this and haven't clicked the button I really dunno what else I can do for you. Go find something else then. P.S. Has Y2K zipper. In which Lenin would also take pride..

I am glad I only paid £15 for this. It’s big and fits but the details are not good. The zipper is very small and cheap. The finishing is not quite there either. Lots of loose threads. Great size. Feels tough but I am glad I got this at the lower price.

Jacket fit is perfect and as expected. To those reviewers claiming arms are too big—> it’s a men’s work jacket, not a piece fashion clothing. It’s made to work in so skinny arm-ed, bird chested people may want to look elsewhere. If your proportions are normal, it’ll fit just right, just follow the chart. Large fits me just right, I’m 185# and 5’-10 1/2”. I’ll probably buy another whenever I can, it’s a good deal for a quality piece of work clothing.

Great jacket for use in the spring or autumn not warm enough to use in very cold weather as the lining is not thick also not water proof. Fits well doesn’t fade in sunlight and good value for money.
