## Overview

The Recorder Workshop 101F Fife is a beginner-friendly, 2-piece woodwind instrument pitched in C, made from durable white ABS resin for excellent tuning and bright intonation. Supplied with a sleek leatherette carry bag and fingering chart, it’s the perfect modern folk instrument or stepping stone to flute mastery.

## Description

The Fife is a great instrument for anyone wishing to play folk music or as a stepping stone towards learning the Flute. The Recorder Workshop 101F is pitched in C, just like descant recorders and is made from strong white ABS resin, adding durability and for more consistent quality. As a result, it has excellent tuning and intonation and produces a nice bright tone. It is supplied in a leatherette carry bag with zip and informative fingering chart.

Review: Surprisingly Good Quality - I was very pleased with the quality of this. The fit of the two parts is very precise and the mouldings are very smooth and clean and free from flash. The tone is good, a little windy but that's typical of plastic flutes. The intonation is pretty much perfect as far as I can tell. The pouch is a nice addition. As others have said, you need to be able to actually play a fife or flute to play this, it's not like a recorder - if you just blow into it it won't make a noise.
Review: fife - I am not sure a fife is ever going to be easy to use! But I am gradually learning how to make a nice noise on it. It is a very convenient size for an instrument and easily carried if you are off for a walk or on some adventure. My guitar does not qualify in that way and my trumpet is usually too loud for nature walks! The deer would have to be deaf to stick around! But I am enjoying this fife and the challenge. So, very happy with this instrument.
