**Q: How many dimm slots ?**
A: 1 SODIMM - up to 8GB DDR3L

**Q: Its compatible with sophos XG Home firewall?**
A: It should work with Sophos, since this is basically just a small computer with two network ports.  I bought one of these and put 4GB RAM and a 60GB SSD in it.  I tried to use it as a basic router with pfSense on it, and the performance was awful.  I had to remove it and put my Edgerouter ERX back in place.  I don't know if the performance problem was with pfSense, or with the network ports.  Installing the RAM and SSD was easy.  I tried to load pfSense from a DVD, but it would never complete booting.  I setup a USB stick to boot and load pfSense, and it was quick and easy.  Performance of the computer itself seems good, but network performance with pfSense was awful.

**Q: What chip is using the nic? is it intel?**
A: These devices have the Intel i211-AT PHY.  Further information about the platform, including a datasheet, can be found on the protectli website

**Q: Is there room for a standard length pci-e ( usb ) expansion card inside? interested in adding a sierra wireless mc7455 (or similar) LTE module.**
A: No, there is not room for expansion cards.  There is only room for the RAM module, the mSata SSD, and the mini wi-fi card option that they sell.
