I also have the 7 rowbrush. I took out every other row so I'm only using 4 rows. It depends on how you want your curls to look. The less rows you have the more defined your curls will be. And your hair will look less frizzy. **Q: Can i use this brush in the shower?** A: Absolutely. This is my favorite brush to use in the shower because it catches 95% of the hair and very few strands end up down the drain. I have 4a/b hair. **Q: How many rows of bristles are better for short culy hair** A: I personally use either or between the 5 row and the 9row. The 9 gives you smaller curls the 5 row clumps bigger curls. All in all, this is an excellent buy! ### ā­ā­ā­ā­ā­ Have used a Denman brush since I was a young girl *by T***A on September 19, 2017* I've had a classic, Denman brush exactly like this since I was a young girl and it's still the best brush I have ever used. The brush has smooth, nylon bristles that have rounded tips. They are set into a rubber base that flexes so it's very gentle on the scalp. The bristles are set fairly wide apart so it's fantastic for brushing and detangling thick, long and curly hair without pain or damage to your hair. However, it works beautifully on any hair. It's very easy to clean and is almost indestructible. The bristles never break or get rough. The handle is impervious to water and is virtually unbreakable. I've had my old one for at least 20 years old and the only reason I bought this new one is that I accidentally left the old one behind when I was out of town. I'm thrilled that this new one is exactly like my old one (except I chose the black handle instead.)
