Purchased this product to help remove the tea color from my pond water. You do need to take about 15 minutes rinsing the package with a garden hose to get all the dust off. It will never be perfectly clean. I have a 2500 gallon pond and just dropped the whole bag in behind some plants. No additional discoloration of the water and already seeing clearer water within the first day.

Excellent Product.
Used it in my pond to clarify the water. Works great, and the price is excellent! Last I bought was in a pet store and cost more than double for a smaller amount.

Kitchen composter refill
Perfect for my kitchen composter charcoal refills, larger pellets so it doesn’t slip through the cracks.

Does not remove odor
I guess it is not activated charcoal as it does not remove odor when used in kitchen composter. Previous charcoal I used prevent odors for about six months, but this one did not remove any odor from the first usage. No effect at all.
