Ortofon's philosophy is to play the record sound as accurate as possible without coloring the sound. The name 2M was selected from several ideas. Ortofon wanted a modern name that would be easy to pronounce and remember and therefore an alphanumerical name was chosen. 2M means MM which is the abbreviation for moving magnet. The 2M series of cartridges features Ortofon’s trademark split pole pins an invention that enables moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response as with a moving coil cartridge. Split pole pins were invented by Ortofon and were originally presented in the 500 series and Super OM series. We have optimized the design for ease of mounting the cartridge and the weight and size to fit the most common turntables on the market today. The 2M Series provides excellent compatibility when used in an assortment of playback systems and with a wide variety of phono preamps.2M Blue Series Features:an improved engine which provides an increased output of 5.5mVNude Elliptical diamond and split pole pins with a copper wire2M Blue Series Specifications:Output voltage at 1000 Hz 5cm/sec: 5mVChannel balance at 1kHz: 15 dBChannel separation at 1 kHz: 25 dBChannel separation at 15 kHz: 15 dBFrequency range at - 3 dB: 20-25.000 HzFrequency response: 20-20.000 + 2 / - 1 dBTracking ability at 315Hz at recommended tracking force: 80 micrometersCompliance dynamic lateral: 20 micrometers/mNStylus type: Nude EllipticalStylus tip radius: r/R 8/18 micrometersTracking force range: 16-20g (16-20 mN)Tracking force recommended: 18 g (18 mN)Tracking angle: 20 degreesInternal impedance DC resistance: 13 kOhmInternal inductance: 700 mHRecommended load resistance: 47 kOhmRecommended load capacitance: 150-300 pFCartridge colour body/stylus: Black/BlueCartridge weight: 72gReplacement stylus unit: 2M Blue (interchangeable with 2M Review: Qualidade indiscutível. - Produto de excelente qualidade. Para quem é amante de vinil, se torna um item importante no td de qualquer um. Ótima compra. Foi entregue no prazo, novo, na caixa, como descrito pelo vendedor. Review: Excellent. Only one downfall. - Ok, this is such a subjective topic I will break it down in both opinion and fact. First, I am running this on a mk2 through a McIntosh tube system that currently is hooked up to 401s for fun. Got em super cheap and they are fun to play around with. After dialing in this cartridge on my tone arm I dropped it on a very good spiders from mars pressing that I had been listening to allot prior to this stylus showing up. I was immediately blown away. The detail was incredible, even on the lower end speakers I am using at the moment. I was picking up on some unwanted sibilance, but that almost went away completely once my tubes warmed up fully. The hair went up on the back of my neck immediately and kept it up as I threw different challenges it's way. Next I slid on some Jethro Tull. The breath, the blend of instruments, and voice, all present in detail and true character. It's as though you are sitting in the studio. Next up Dire Straits. What I love about Mark is what he does between the lines. This set up makes those lines very easy to read. Now the only downer with this stylus at all is not really a fault, but in some cases it's to detailed, if that makes any sense. We all have those special albums in our collection that we treasure, but are of either poor recordings, or bad pressings and this stylus is going to highlight those shortcomings bigly, as I have found. Now I enjoy all that stuff, that's me, but it is unignorable. Not a flaw of this set up though. Bottom line for me is this; if you want to dip it in to the naked realm, you will be very hard pressed to beat this anywhere near this price and in my opinion, I have listen to others at more than double this price fall flat in comparison. Is there better? Of course. But, you are splitting hairs as you enter this world. If you are using sl1200 direct drive type gear, I don't see any reason to go any further than this, unless you have money to burn, and if you have money to burn, then upgrade your turntable first. This little precious gem is worth every red cent. There are some comparable brands that are fun to play around with and may even do better for some records. Nagaoka comes to mind, but it's all preference. There are far to many variables. Recordings, music types, ear canals, ear damage., age, gear, and on, and on it goes. I have been to countless concerts, worked in industrial fields most of my life, and am 50. My hearing is good and trained, but is it perfect? Not even close. For me, this is my new favorite in a reasonable price range. So, if you are fiftyish, have somewhat abused yourself, and love intricate detail..... This could be your diamond. Personally I think everyone would love this rock star. The coolest part; it's high end at a affordable price. All that in mind, I would give 6 stars if I could. I would be surprised if somebody didn't really like it, and I would suspect that they screwed up in their configuration in some way or another. Do your research, but honestly, I think she is the one dude. ## Features - Portable ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B001E0CK3K | | Best Sellers Rank | #20,330 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #69 in Cartridges | | Box Contents | 2M phono sensor | | Brand | Ortofon | | Brand Name | Ortofon | | Colour | Blue | | Compatible Devices | Speaker | | Connectivity Technology | RCA | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 1,033 Reviews | | Cycles | AC Motor | | Enclosure Material | Metal | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05705796080025 | | Included Components | 2M phono sensor | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 28L x 19W x 18H Millimeters | | Item Weight | 7.2 Grams | | Item Weight Unit of Measure | 7.2 Grams | | Manufacturer | Ortofon | | Manufacturer Part Number | 0560011 | | Material | Metal | | Maximum Rotational Speed | 78 RPM | | Model Name | 2M Blue | | Model Number | 0560011 | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Product Features | Portable | | Signal Format | Analog | | Special Feature | Portable | | Style Name | Modern | | UPC | 780746630395 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Ortofon - **Maximum Rotational Speed:** 78 RPM - **Included Components:** Stylus is replaceable - **Special Feature:** Portable - **Material:** Metal ## Images ![2M Blue MM Phono Cartridge - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71gWuEgLJuL.jpg) ![2M Blue MM Phono Cartridge - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/710NAfGxR2L.jpg) ![2M Blue MM Phono Cartridge - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81p5b2NkhkL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does this come with needle?** A: Mine came with the needle. Sounds great! **Q: Can this play CD's..?** A: Nope, it’s a stylus/cartridge for analog vinyl LP’s. Might want to look into it a bit more before purchase. What I can say, is that this works incredibly well for its intended purpose. **Q: Will the 2m blue work on a dual cs 5000 turntable?** A: It will work, the dual has a standard cartridge mount. I would highly recommend getting the ortofon headshell (it is like 20 bucks), it will make the installation and alignment a lot easier. **Q: Will this fit Dual 1219?** A: Had a Dual 1218. Put my 1st Ortofon cartridge on it. Buy a protractor and electronic scale. Ortofon 2M Blue should work fine. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Qualidade indiscutível. *by A***O on 18 September 2020* Produto de excelente qualidade.
