Every line is powerful and profound
Rather than get a convertible or a young wife, as a mid-life crisis I decided to pursue a few different life goals. One of which was to read the 100 most influential books of all time. This is my 100th book. It was a little hard to find, but glad I could find it here on Amazon. I'm savoring every page. Is it because this is the end of my book reading journey? Perhaps. But also this book is amazing. Sometimes these self-help guru-centric books are full of gobbledygook (I'm looking at you, The Power of Now). But this is written plainly, and even when the author references a term, he explains it in a simple way. Which is good for simple me. I think anyone can make themselves a better person or improve their outlook on life, relationships, if you can even absorb a few lines out of this book.

My handbook for life!
This book has been my handbook for life. I've read it and reread it for almost 10 years and find it gets more and more useful with time. Any mental, emotional or spiritual challenge you could come across in life is addressed as concisely as a koan and as usefully as, well, a handbook for life! I love how it brings solves seeming contradictions like free will and destiny, commitment and surrender. It presents a very inspiring and empowering vision for each of our ability to find peace, joy and freedom inside ourselves, in this very moment, while living normal lives, facing our challenges, not running from them... hence the name the "Art of Living".
