## Description

British Berkefeld 2.24 Gallon Gravity-Fed Water Filter System- Stainless Steel with 2x ATC Super Sterasyl Candle Filters - desertcart.com

Review: water tastes and looks more pure - Water tastes SO MUCH BETTER. No solids visible anymore, either. Hard to believe the difference. Much cheaper than British Berkeley and it's still NSF certified. My complaint: The spiket is slow and easy to over and under tighten (it leaks readily, but if you get it the right tension it's good). Non-problem: The ceramic candle filters take a while to filter the first batch, but now we just use the faucet hose to keep more in the top portion and haven't been bothered by the speed at all.
Review: Awesome water! - As usual before buying a product I read reviews. The only 2 complaints I remember was the cheap spout and the sticker being hard to remove. I figured no big deal, ordered the stainless spout at the same time to take care of that problem. The sticker literally took 5 minutes to remove under hot water, a little alcohol to get the residue off and it looks great. All in all I give it a 5 star rating, and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants good water with out all the bad that comes from plastic.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i use aquarain or berkey filters in this unit?**
A: I believe so

**Q: Can this be used to filter rain water?**
A: Definitely... This is how I do it... I got a 50 gallon white translucent plastic container(make sure NO CHEMICALS!! were ever in it,can't emphasize this enough)...Clean it thoroughly and arrange it by setting it near a downspout... put a cloth sock, etc. over the spout and allow rain to flow into the container...(use any size you can acquire)..I use another clean towel to further strain the downspout water...Do this until the water is dirt, grit, and twig free...Cheesecloth is good for a final filter...And a gutter-guard like setup does the 1st filter for you...Hope this helps...(The more impurities you get out extends the life of the BBGWFS)...Try not to have brown water...That taxes the filter...Also stock up on tiny pills of water purification tablets...Follow directions....

**Q: How long before the water starts flowing ?**
A: The first couple of times filling it, it took probably 20 minutes to get the basin full enough to have water flow. It seems the more I use it the quicker it gets.

**Q: Can I use berkey filters for this unit?**
A: You can . They will fit. But I have been hearing some negative feedback about Berkey filters.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Welcome relief from the HIGHLY chlorinatamounts of ced city water
*by L***H on February 21, 2021*

Since moving to this small Oregon city six months ago, I had been buying bottled water because the tap water had unbelievable levels of chlorine taste and smell. I am renting so putting a built in (plumbed) filter wasn't an option. This gravitational system was the right answer. The water tastes much better; it is easy to fill and maintain the system; the system is attractive sitting on my counter. I am careful to check water levels in top and bottom reservoirs when refilling so as not to overfill. I usually do this before bedtime because it takes quite a long time for the water to filter through. If several people are using the water, refilling more often may be necessary. You don't need to wait until all of the water filters through to the dispensing container. Water is available at the spigot as soon as it is in the bottom container . The filters last at least six months but they are fairly expensive.
