Review: Wish I'd thought of this earlier - This is one of those occasions where I looked for a product, didn't find it and put up with things for ages until I refined my search and 'Voila!' found just what I want. The front door is on a north facing wall. Where I live they helpfully turn off street lighting at night (so why have it at all!!?) to save money. This means that the front door is in relative darkness. There is a light on a nearby wall but it is masked with a massive climbing hydrangea and there's no power on the wall near the door to set up a better placed light. It looked like the hydrangea had to go or be severely cut back which would have been a really big job and a shame because at twelve foot high and close on twenty foot wide it looks spectacular when in flower. I spotted this which allows me to fit the light inside the porch and the solar panel outside. It took about an hour to fix but most of that time was spent looking for suitable screws - it does come with its own fixing kit but I was attaching to the PVC porch and not to a wall so I wanted something which had more bite. As I said earlier it is on the north facing side of the house, it is February and the weather the last few days has been decidedly grey. I put it up around noon and it was charged and doing its thing by six pm. So it is easy to fit and very bright. Can't comment on motion detection because it's mounted inside a porch a foot or so above head height so it doesn't need to be that sensitive in order to work for me, it comes on when I open the door to go out and when I come back and that's all I need. It seemed to have a bit of a charge when it arrived because the light flashed when I took the bits out of the box and connected them up. It didn't light up immediately when I assembled it, the plug which connects the cable from the power supply to the lamp needed to be pushed home and twisted to make a good contact - and that wasn't really a problem just part of the assembly process. There's also a minor pimple in the surface of the otherwise smooth solar panel, obviously I don't know yet if this will affect durability. Overall I am very pleased with this product and would buy it again
Review: The ease of installation and configuration - This product worked from the box. It comes pre configured and when it detects a 'human' the lights come on for around 30 to 40 seconds no issues. The light is plenty bright and the separate solar panel is just perfect for optimum positioning. The brackets for the light and solar array are well designed and well easy to install and use. My only criticism would be that the eight screws supplied are 'flimsy' a couple of decent turns on a screwdriver and the heads are bolloxed. I used my own after the first one revealed itself as not fit FP... This is easily a five star product and if I have a need will buy one again...

**Q: Would this be suitable for the inside wall of a small outside loo, or would it blind the kids :) ?**
A: It depends if you would want it to turn on during the day or not. Even if it’s dark inside the loo the light will not switch on with movement (excuse the pun). This is because the daytime sensor is on the solar panel which is kept outside. Therefore even if it’s pitch black inside where the light is it still thinks it’s bright and won’t turn on until it’s dark outside too. 

Very frustrating design flaw which means I was unable to use it in foe my windowless shed. 

In answer about the brightness it would be perfect for a small room such as a toilet just so long as you don’t need it during daylight hours.

**Q: Please explain the one mode? Which mode will it operate please? Thanks**
A: 1 mode is the motion sensor..
Will only light up at night!
2 mode, dimmable sensor, stays dim until motion sensor detects movement, then turns bright
3 mode always on.

**Q: Installed but doesnt work, flashes on for a few seconds when panel is plugged in but doesnt light when you walk past it... is there an on/off button??**
A: No.  I couldn't get mine to work either... I tried to charge it but the only light I got from it was when I initially plugged in the cable and that was a quick flash...I sent it back and bought from a company called solar shield designed for us in the uk..theirs has been flawlessly ...

**Q: Why do you need batteries**
A: You do not need to add batteries to this product.
It contains a rechargeable battery that is charged via the provided solar panel. The charge within the rechargeable battery is then used to power the light when activated at night.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bright spark

I don't know how long this light's solar panel will stand up to a UK winter or how long the battery will also last but regardless of that, its great value for money. Easily installed and the light is very bright indeed. Perhaps not the arc of motion detection of some competitors but still good enough and sensitive to motion. So far, no false alarms but you might want to site it away from any sudden heat sources e.g. the outlet flue of a boiler or similar which could / might set it off.
