Canon - great value, reliable, no reason to use anything else
I have been choosing Canon laser printers for over 20 years with phenomenal success. My wife's office was still using one from almost 15 years ago, hating to replace it because it has been so reliable. Other IT people have sold the other brands, but the people that have had Canon printers in the past don't want anything else. They have been the best value, easy to setup and configure, and extremely reliable. Never is the number of times one of the Canon's has required servicing.

Fast, with Great Print Quality
One of the best monochrome, laser printers that I have used, and I have used many. The print quality is excellent, especially with small, fine, fonts. It prints very quickly and does a duplex page in a split second. It also renders graphics (of course, in grayscale) with very good quality. Setting up the Wireless was quite a challenge and not nearly as intuitive as I had hoped. The display is not intuitive either and rather cumbersome. One set up, however, it is an outstanding printer.

NOT GOOD. Printer had hardware issue on the 1st day. Canon IT couldn't fix it. I had to send it back.

Installation was for me a big problem
FWIW, the printer has only been installed for one day. I would rate this as a 3.5. The printer now seems to work just fine. The price is/was right ($250). It has the look and feel of a good product. My only complaint is with the users' manual, the user interface on the printer, the Remote UI (user interface), and the installation. I probably spent 20 hours installing the printer over three different days. The user manual is VERY difficult to use. There is no index. The search facility is quite good though. There are few illustrations. Some key terms are not defined. My problem was connecting the printer to my home network. Their "Easy Connection" to the internet did not work for my Windows 11 computer and brand new router. I needed to use a combination of their "epms-win-2_21-ea29_4.exe" installation s/w and the cryptic instructions from the UI on the printer. I would have rated the printer 5.0 if it hadn't been for all of these installation problems ... and I've only hit the surface of my installation problems. They were really annoying. At one point I was ready to box up the printer and send it back to Amazon. Boy, oh boy. Oh, did I mention ... I am a retired computer engineer, so dealing with computers is not something that is foreign to me.

Very fast
I have done the simplest possible setup... USB cable to a hub, and it works great. The diagnostics aren't very good unless you install the full Canon software suite, which I haven't done. The first page print is nearly instantaneous, and the pages keep coming. I thought the paper drawer had a slightly flimsy feel compared to an older Brother printer I've been using, but it seems to be up to the job. The rest of the printer must be solid enough, because if is surprisingly heavy for its size.

Excellent
These printers are a work horse. The cartridges have a great capacity (the H) and they don't break. We must have 10 of them.
