## Description

Blackmagic Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G is a converter that can convert signal between SDI and fiber optic simultaneously and extend SDI connection up to 16km. This is a converter function equal to two converters. It is also possible to transmit different video formats in two directions. The 12G-SDI connection is multilate-ready and compatible with all SD, HD, and Ultra HD formats/devices up to 2160p60, including Level A and B devices. Insert standard 3G/6G/12G-SDI SFP fiber optic module into the fiber socket and transmit SDI signal via fiber optic cable. Fiber optic cables can be used at the same low price as those used in computer networks. The included international power supply uses a locking connector, so you don't have to worry about the power cable coming out.

**Q: Is there a blackmagic sfp for this unit?**
A: We've used Ubiquiti Single Mode 10G LC SFP+ module and it works

**Q: Do i need two of these in order to convert the sdi signal at the source and at the receiving end to convert back to sdi?**
A: That is correct, converter works either way, converting SDI to or from Fiber, so one converter at each end is needed. Insert appropriate fiber cable between the two to extend your SDI signal from source to destination.

**Q: What would I need to get the optical in/out to ST fiber connections?**
A: This does not come with any SFP for the optical connection. Blackmagic and others sell them (there are different ones for 3G, 6G and 12G) but normally they are LC not ST fiber connections.

**Q: Do you have to use the blackmagic SFP or can you use your own??**
