JENNIFER'S BODY

Fun movie. If you are a lover of comedy horror E.G. Buffy the vampire slayer, Ash v. Evil dead, Trick r' Treat or Bride of Chucky... Then you have probably already seen this movie... If you are a healthy Female somewhere around 50 years old and love all things Halloween, Sci-Fi and Comedy (Monty Python) and Motley Crue, Motorhead, Sham 69, Amyl and the sniffers... well drop me a line I am on Instagram (and sadly spending some time writing Amazon reviews).

As a proud member of the queer community, I have to say Jennifer's Body is an absolute delight wrapped in a horror-comedy package! This movie is like a love letter to all the weirdos who appreciate a bit of blood, sass, and a sprinkle of sapphic subtext. I mean, who doesn’t love a flick where Megan Fox plays a demon-possessed cheerleader? Talk about a crush that really bites! The chemistry between Jennifer (Megan Fox) and Needy (Amanda Seyfried) is off the charts! You can feel the tension, especially during those moments when Needy is trying to save her BFF from her own murderous rampage. It’s like watching your best friend date that one girl who’s way too hot and totally bad for her, and you just can’t look away. Plus, Needy's reaction to everything happening around her is a mood. I mean, I felt that level of panic when my crush went to prom with someone else—it's devastating! Sure, the plot has some twists and turns that are a bit wonky, but who cares when you've got iconic one-liners and a soundtrack that slaps? The movie perfectly captures the chaos of teenage girlhood while serving up feminist horror that makes you want to scream—and not just because of the jump scares! So, if you’re looking for a hilarious and slightly twisted take on friendship, love, and revenge, grab some popcorn, and settle in for Jennifer's Body. Just make sure to keep an eye on your friends; you never know when one might turn into a demon!

A fun, goofy horror movie that allows Amanda Seyfried to shine in her "Needy" abilities. Megan Fox (pre plastic surgery) plays the "pretty friend" while Seyfried has to tone down her looks/beauty to allow Fox to "shine". The teen language is a huge throwback to multiple generations growing up. The whole high school experience is honestly just funny and where Seyfried takes it is pricelss.

Honestly it's dark, feels somewhat campy-ish to me and Amanda and Meagan have great chemistry together.

"Hell, yes!" In the fall of 2009, I happened to see "Jennifer's Body" on the big screen when it was released in movie theaters. I'll be totally honest. I took a chance on this movie and was very skeptical at first. But I really, really, really loved this movie! The reason why I liked it is because I understood it. Like the dark comedy, "Heathers" (1988), which loosely inspired it, "Jennifer's Body" is a dark supernatural coming of age story. (Both movies contain lots metaphors.) At the time when it was released, reviews for "Jennifer's Body" were mixed; a reflection of the fact that many movie reviewers were confused by the story. Is it a horror movie or a comedy? They didn't understand that it is a mixture of both - a coming of age story disguised as a teen horror movie with some black comedic elements, set in a high school. But the real horror is not the killings shown on screen, but the pain of adolescence. It's not the girl who becomes possessed by a demon and turns into a serial killing machine that is so horrible, but rather that high school can be a mean, vicious, cruel, brutal, and very scary place. (Not for everyone, but certainly for some.) The real monster of the story is not the possessed cheerleader, but what some people transform into as they grow older and leave behind the innocence of their childhood. If you understand that, then the entire movie makes sense. However if you don't understand that or you are expecting a slasher movie which this isn't, you will be disappointed. (Look for the metaphors to understand what the story is really about!) But "Jennifer's Body" is also a lot of fun. My favorite line in the movie is: "She can fly?!!" The humorous moments are intended to give the audience an occasional break from the oppressive darker aspects of the story, which deals with a difficult painful age for young people. The writing and dialogue were really good, as was the directing. As for Fox's acting - she was fine and did a great job bringing the main title character to life. One of the strengths of "Jennifer's Body" is that it is a breath of fresh air in the era of massive "reboots", prequels, sequels, and remakes. It tried break away from the current trend of movies by doing something totally different. I respect the makers of this film, writer Diablo Cody and director Karyn Kusama, for what they tried to accomplish with this movie. Unfortunately there are way too many filmmakers in Hollywood who keep recycling the same old material again and again. Yet when Cody and Kusama tried to do something new and original, they got viciously attacked for it. Screw the naysayers! As far as I'm concerned, "Jennifer's Body" was one of the better movies of 2009. What shocked me the most was not the content of this movie, but the way some critics had brutally attacked it. It should be pointed out that Roger Ebert, one of the most respected and best reviewers out there, gave "Jennifer's Body" a B / Three Stars! (As for all those reviewers who bashed this movie, it is clear that they certainly didn't understand it. I'm so glad that I didn't listen to them and saw this movie on the big screen anyway.) Although this film may not have done very well at the box office, that is NOT an indication that it is in anyway a bad movie! (Some of Hollywood's greatest movies were not a box office success, while some of its worst were.) J.B. will live on and definitely develop a strong cult following. Not only am I recommending "Jennifer's Body", but bought it as soon as it was released on DVD and look forward to watching it again and again! (For other diehard fans like myself, there is also a 112 page companion graphic novel to "Jennifer's Body" by BOOM! Studios that expands the story with additional new material.) My one and ONLY complaint about "Jennifer's Body" is the DVD commentary could have used a little more energy from the commentators. I really love this movie and wish there were more movies like it. As the ads for this movie indicated, hell is definitely a teenage girl!!!

This is a bad ass movie 🎬 📽🍿

Jennifer's Body is a bold and stylish horror-comedy that blends dark humor with supernatural thrills. Directed by Karyn Kusama and written by Diablo Cody, the film delivers a unique take on teen drama and horror, offering sharp dialogue, memorable performances, and a distinctive tone that sets it apart from other films in the genre. While it doesn’t always fully stick the landing, it’s an entertaining ride with plenty of personality. What Works Megan Fox’s Charismatic Performance: Megan Fox shines in the lead role, bringing a mix of charm, wit, and intensity that keeps you hooked. Her performance is layered and magnetic, perfectly suited to the film’s tone. Sharp Writing: Diablo Cody’s signature dialogue is full of clever one-liners and biting humor, giving the film an edge that feels fresh and unique. Atmosphere and Style: The film’s moody visuals and eerie small-town setting create a compelling backdrop for the story. The mix of horror elements with high school drama is executed with flair. Campy Fun: The movie leans into its campy nature with over-the-top moments that are as entertaining as they are unsettling. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which adds to its charm. Themes of Power and Friendship: Beneath the horror-comedy surface lies an exploration of complex dynamics like power, jealousy, and loyalty, making it more thought-provoking than it initially appears. What Could Be Better Uneven Tone: The film sometimes struggles to balance its horror and comedy elements, which can make certain scenes feel disjointed or inconsistent. Underdeveloped Themes: While the movie hints at deeper ideas about relationships and societal expectations, these themes aren’t always explored as fully as they could be. Pacing Issues: Some parts of the film feel rushed or underexplained, leaving you wanting more context or development in certain areas. Final Thoughts Jennifer's Body is a fun and stylish entry into the horror-comedy genre that offers sharp dialogue, memorable performances, and a unique perspective. While it has its flaws in pacing and tone, its campy charm and bold approach make it worth watching—especially for fans of films that don’t shy away from mixing humor with horror. If you’re looking for something quirky, darkly funny, and unapologetically different, Jennifer's Body is definitely worth checking out. It may not be perfect, but it’s a film with plenty of personality that has earned its cult following over time.

me and the wife like it

Excellent

Edizione inglese in cofanetto metallico "Future Pack" del film Jennifer's Body, molto bella la custodia da collezione.

This is amazing and I never get bored of it,
