Review: Can't beat the original - I first bought a Chinese copy of this knife, because I didn't know this was available. It sells for the same price as the Chinese copy, but is superior in many ways. The Chinese knife was not sharp when it arrived. This Swedish knife was scary sharp. The only complaint I have about this Swedish knife is that it is not full tang construction, whereas the Chinese one is. In the end I suppose it's a toss-up, a knife can always be sharpened, which would make the copycat the more usable knife. Oh well, do yourself a favor and get both of these, they are cheap enough. The companion is by far my favorite for every day tasks. The Bushcraft is heavy duty and a true workhorse! I’m considering buying the Companion HD as well. I originally planned on keeping the polished look but thought it would be wise to force a patina just in case. Put the vinegar down and use mustard! Clean with isopropyl alcohol, dry thoroughly, use mustard any way you want. Let mustard sit for 15-20 mins on each side. Rinse with warm water and dish soap. Dry thoroughly. Apply a thin line of oil. Enjoy. I applied mustard twice on each side. Obviously it has to be mustard with vinegar.
