Each panel is built individually then clipped together which is actually nice because you can get a bit more creative with joining them in short or long strings. The instructions where pretty clear, but they have you build them in numbered groups which was confusing on my first set. I took a picture of them numbered to give you an idea. The poles marked "I" have a place to screw the support foot in, so that is why you have to number the panels. I will say they are sturdy and pretty good material.
