You snap the battery into the bottom of it and the tool on the top. I love that it comes with an extra battery! The tools and accessories all seems to be well-made with the exception of the case. CONS: I do not like the flimsy bag that came with the set. I very much would have prefered a hard case that comes with other similar electric pruning sheers. That was disappointing. Cons

This is perfect for trimming trees. It is unbelievable how it cuts and saves your hand from becoming tired. Very sharp and cuts through anything you can fit between the blades. The battery life last a very long time. Actually I have not had a project that I needed the second battery. The extension pole is great for trimming trees. The same tree that used to take me 2 hours to trim each year with the long pole and hand clippers only took me 20 minutes to trim the tree, cut the clippings up the size to put in my trash can, and clean up the area. A great hand and time saver!
