Push the adapter on to the end of the PCIe drive fully, then insert the contacts end into the MacBook Pro's logic board SSD connector. Press it in while keeping the drive as flat to the logic board as you can, until it is fully seated and the anchoring screw at the other end of the PCIe drive lines up with the screw hole. Re-insert the screw, and tighten snugly. Put the computer back panel back on, and use a flash drive 'new install' OS X boot drive to start the computer, format the disk with Disk Utility, and load OS X (I use Mojave, you must use at least High Sierra to work with PCIe drives). Reload the rest of your programs from a backup you did before starting; or reinstall your programs.
