Review: Almost too sharp, almost. - I usually use Astra Superior Platinum blades or Gillette Nacets. I bought these because I was curious. I'm using them in a Leaf Thorn SE razor. (you snap the blades in half) I haven't tried the Bics in a vintage DE razor yet. I have not cut myself with them yet, but I feel like I'm always on the verge of getting cut. After 2 or 3 shaves, the blade is settling down now and feeling smoother. And Bic easily cuts the whiskers on the end of my bony chin, which are coarse and the skin is looser. The Astra and Nacet blades struggle with that. I like the blades. I might buy them again. First I want to see how they do in a milder razor. I am no longer curious to try Feather blades; these are sharp enough :-) Update: I finally tried the Bic blades in my ancient Gillette razor and WOW. Best shave ever. I'm glad I gave these 5 stars when I first reviewed them even though I was not really happy with the shave in the Leaf Thorn razor. All the rest of the blades will be used in the Gillette, and if I ever run out I will buy more. The Leaf and Schick Krona razors really like the Astra and Nacet blades, but the Gillette with a Bic blade is a better shave. (I bet they would be good in the Leaf Twig too.) Just for cost?** A: No. Use the blade you are comfortable with. Every blade is different. I use Gillette Silver Blues. Buy a small quantity of Bics and try them. **Q: does anyone know what these would fit on for shaving?** A: They will fit in any standard double-edge razor. **Q: Will these blades work with Dovo Shavette Straight Razor Steel Handle (with red insert) ?** A: I researched the Dovo Shavette and ended up going with a standard Safety Razor for the weight of the handle. However, from everything that I remember on the shavette it uses any standard double edge razor. On another note. I don't know how your skin is, but the BIC is a little blunt and if your skin can take it I would recommend maybe the Merkur or a Gillette Platinum. Avoid the Feather blades as they are extremely sharp and unforgiving. **Q: correction- does anyone know what folding type razor would these fit on? Thank you so much!** A: While I am not sure what you mean by folding razor, I do know these blades will fit nearly every Double Edge (DE) Razor on the market. If your talking about the straight razors that take a replaceable blade then yes these will work too, they have to be cracked in half first though.
