These were used in an an access control system to send 24v to electronic doors. It allowed the use of a single 12v power supply for both the 12v and 24v loads. A captive-screew terminal or set-screw terminals would have been preferred for faster wiring. But, all in all, they did their job perfectly, providing a rock-solid 24v output. Review: Worked perfectly and the price was great. - Worked perfectly! I used this to integrate an old existing 24v magnetic shear lock into our current building access control system which uses all 12v locks throughout the rest of the facility. This little DC to DC converter saved me $719 by not having to replace that single 24v magnetic lock with a 12v model. It has been working perfectly since installed. It also runs cool as a cucumber. Hopefully this review will help others that need to do a similar thing. ## Features - Industry grade DC 12V to 24V 5A 120W step-up converter - Sturdy, waterproof housing makes the converter ideal for use in a wide range of applications including vehicles, security systems, hospital equipment, telecommunications etc - Over 90% power conversion efficiency - Case material: die-cast aluminum - Potting material: epoxy sealed ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0085T97PW | | Best Sellers Rank | #3,596,551 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #2,843 in Power Inverters #18,430 in Car Audio & Video Accessories | | Brand | EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS | | Brand Name | EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS | | Current Rating | 5 A | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 75 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00619241095036 | | Included Components | DC Converter Regulator 12V Step up to 24V 5A 120W | | Item Type Name | DC 12V to DC 24V 5A 120W Step Up Boost Converter, Voltage Regulator, DC/DC Transformer | | Manufacturer | EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS | | Model | 78DCCON12V | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | 78DCCON12V | | Power Source | DC | | Specification Met | ETL | | UPC | 619241095036 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS - **Current Rating:** 5 A - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Power Source:** DC - **Specification Met:** ETL ## Images ![DC 12V to DC 24V 5A 120W Step Up Boost Converter Voltage Regulator DC/DC Transformer - Waterproof for Golf Cart, Boat, etc - by EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61deE-S9MQL.jpg) ![DC 12V to DC 24V 5A 120W Step Up Boost Converter Voltage Regulator DC/DC Transformer - Waterproof for Golf Cart, Boat, etc - by EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61NuZL+QBIL.jpg) ![DC 12V to DC 24V 5A 120W Step Up Boost Converter Voltage Regulator DC/DC Transformer - Waterproof for Golf Cart, Boat, etc - by EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71v0Ju6JCBL.jpg) ![DC 12V to DC 24V 5A 120W Step Up Boost Converter Voltage Regulator DC/DC Transformer - Waterproof for Golf Cart, Boat, etc - by EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Wk3l8QqLL.jpg) ![DC 12V to DC 24V 5A 120W Step Up Boost Converter Voltage Regulator DC/DC Transformer - Waterproof for Golf Cart, Boat, etc - by EX ELECTRONIX EXPRESS - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61QHLCzlClL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 12v to 24v for Access Control Project *by T***K on January 13, 2018* Absolutely great. These work flawlessly in 24/7 operation in very low and high temperatures. I have tested them in in temperatures around -20 DEG F to +90 DEG F. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/7187562-dc-12v-to-dc-24v-5a-120w-step-up-boost](https://www.desertcart.no/products/7187562-dc-12v-to-dc-24v-5a-120w-step-up-boost) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
