X-Sense Interconnected Smoke and CO Detector Combo, SC01-W, 3-Pack

I bought these to replace my previous wireless detectors that were over 10 years old and started chirping. These were extremely easy to set up, have a 10 year battery and CO detector which my old ones did not have. After setting these up I got concerned when the little LCD screen was blank. I thought there was an issue with the battery or something. The way you see that they are working is by the little green LED that blinks. I think it only blinks like once per minute which made me think there was an issue as I looked for a while and didn't see anything. Test them weekly as they describe. I have an old house with plaster and lath and these units sync up with no issues.

Installed these in one of my customers homes as Kidde and BRK have discontinued 10-year battery, wireless interconnected smoke/CO combo detectors. I ordered 2 6-packs and connecting them all to the same RF network was quick and easy. Installed each in minutes. Seem great so far.

These were so easy to setup, no electrician needed. I love how fast it was to sync the alarms with absolutely no issues. Nice LCD display. Note, it won't work with most old (e.g kidde) bases, so you'll want to be prepared to install the base with this alarm.

Works as advertised and easy to install. Straightforward synchronization process. Definitely recommend remote to test and retire alarms.

Bought this kit for a house with older (non-wired, non-interlinked) smoke and CO detectors. Installing was as straightforward as any other smoke detector: follow rules on where to locate the detector in each room where it is needed; put ring up where the detector will be; mark holes; drill; attach; then activate and put alarm in place. Once all were installed, the additional step of verifying interconnectivity requires at least one other person, as someone needs to hold down the "test" button on one unit, and another person needs to run through all the rooms to verify that all the other detectors are going off as well. You can generally hear the signal propagating (the detector you are testing goes off, then a few seconds later all those it can directly "talk to" go off, then a second later all those that those detectors can directly "talk to" go off, etc), but having another person makes the process both easier and more precise. All units tested accurate when installed, and have had no issues in the two weeks since (I have had instances where I bought a smoke detector from a store and installed it then it started giving false positives a few days later). Note that all these units are interconnected out of the box. The manual describes a fairly simple process to "detach" one or more units from the set, and to "attach" additional units to the same set. If you need more than 6 of these, or if you need to share the detectors in one set between two different houses, etc, you'll want to follow one or both of those procedures. Only real downside here is that the units are a bit "thicker" than Kidde or First Alert units. If you have both installed side by side for some reason, it is very noticeable. The design itself is also very "boxy" rather than the more tapered designs of some competitors. However, I don't think many real users will care.
