This was genius and worked 100% flawlessly. I planned ahead and ordered the tap as well as the springs. Grateful for an actual useful and correct review/ information. Springs are sturdy and seem well built. Only thing that's a concern is maybe are too stiff? Time will tell. 4 stars simply because the extra work. *Edit 12/22/24 : Not too stiff. Springs are perfect. Just the right stiffness with enough flex when needed. Smacked the hell out of the garage a few times forgetting they were on. Plenty of flex when it's needed. "For 5150 whip users, simply take a 1/2-13 tap, and cut in new threads over the 1/2-20 threads already present. There is enough metal thickness, that the threads hold fine.
