Review: This mailbox is the best box hands down! (Coming from a postman) - This review is coming from your friendly neighborhood postman. I deal with literally every type of mailbox on the market. I originally went went with this style do to the quality of construction and larger package holding capacity. Beat up, small, broken flimsy boxes are a irritation of mine. My route doesnt include my own mailbox but I work with my mail lady and wanted to give her the same love I get from a few of my own customers. And I am so glad I did. First, over all materials are top of the line. The shell is made from thick steel and the paint job is perfect. What I wasnt expecting was some of the smaller details that will make this mailbox last pretty much forever. On my old box, which was only 8 years old maybe, the plastic flag and the magnet had both broken off this past year. The flag being plastic and the magnet housing, plastic as well. The plastic pins where the door pivots broke apart last year. None of that is going to happen with this mailbox. The flag is made of the same thick metal and strong. Its attached to a bracket with a rivet. That bracket is attached to the box with Nyloc nuts. These nuts will never loosen or back out. The pins on the door, are attached with pins that area held in with cotter pins. There is ZERO chance over the lifetime of this mailbox, that I will have to worry or replace either. The magnet, which is very powerful, is welded in place. There is no plastic at all on this entire mailbox. The only way this will ever fail is if the magnet loses its magnetism. Coming from a person whos job it is to deal with mailboxes, I am blown away at how much better this mailbox is then I was expecting it to be. You can go to a box store and buy a cheap box for $40 or you can spend $70 on this box and never have to worry about fixing it again. PLUS your mail carrier will absolutely love you! PLUS if you get a lot of packages, this box will fit a good portion of them. The people on my route who have this box, I am way more willing to do a little extra for because they are doing an little extra for me. Possible Cons: With the door being made of the thicker metal, it is a touch more heavy then your normal stamped mailbox door. This isnt a bad thing but as a mailman, I know I at least, tend to pop the doors open and let them fall as I am grabbing mail. The metal should be strong enough to hold up regardless but it would be an end all feature if the door had just the slightest amount of resistance to keep it from flopping open so hard. Second, you are going to want to make sure you have a solid enough post to attach this box to. Im going with a 6x6 post, concreted into the ground. You could get away with a 4x4 post but you are going to need to use concrete for sure and remember you are going to need 18-24 inches of the post in the ground. Then make sure you attach the box just as solid to the post as the post is to the ground. DO NOT use those dumb 2x2 metal post sets you can get at the box store. Even on the lightest of mailboxes they dont work. It most certainly will not work for this box. I am going to use 3/4 inch ply wood to fill the bottom of the underneath of the box and then attach that to a longer piece of 2x6 to bring it out a touch from the post to the road to be within the 8 to 10 inch spec.
Review: Nicely made and very attractive - I got this box 'cause my rural mailman kept jamming boxes into my already oversized mailbox. The last package I had to use a box cutter to remove! This one is really well made; it has a powder coated paint finish that's attractive and looks like it will last. The door is solid and well hinged--the magnet that holds it closed is great. Defiantly a step up from my last box. It's plenty wide and high enough to hold most packages I get. There is one thing I didn't consider however--it's not as deep as my last box. It's only 16" deep while my neighbor's standard box is 18" deep. My prior oversize box was 20" deep. I don't know why they made them that short, but I'm pleased enough overall with the product that I'm keeping it. I do miss the back door my old one had though. . . .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Size
*by T***T on August 17, 2025*

We needed a new mailbox and after looking around for a while, settled on this one. It has been a good choice. We are going on year two with this mailbox and it still looks new. Spiders do like it, so we have to keep it cleaned out, but I think any box would be like that. It is easy to open but stays closed well. It is clearly well made, with thick metal, and doesn’t seem cheap at all. Our mail person loves the size! This may be my favorite thing too. I’m so glad we bought an extra large mailbox because many of our packages fit right inside. Great value for the money.
