The Expanse: Season Three [Blu-ray]

I don't watch TV, I don't do Netflix or cable or satellite dish. I prowl Amazon for my serial fix. The Expanse Season One was my best purchase of the year. I am a sci-fi junkie and The Expanse was everything I did not know that I wanted. A series set in space that wasn't like a road trip in a Winnebago. It was dirty and gritty with people living in harsh environments that would kill them if they didn't pay attention and sometimes killed them when they followed the survival rules. Spaceships that were not unlike some of the cars I've owned, held together with scrounged parts and prayers. From the beginning, the tone, the memorable characters, the social stratication all work together to tell a compelling story. I was so mesmerized with Season One that I purchased all the novels on Kindle, including the back story novellas. I purchased Season Two on preorder. Season Two returns to the all the action and delivers with character development and follows the the spirit of the books. Now Season Three is finally here and it is even better at engaging my attention and participation. There were times that the misinformation between Earth, Mars and the Belt - the entrenched bigotry and animosity - with each faction working at cross purposes until I am yelling at the screen. Space is so darn big and about to get bigger. This is the part where the thanks to Amazon comes into play. Amazon has picked up The Expanse for Season Four after the series was cancelled. Thank you Amazon for allowing the story to unfold. I know that the quality of the series will not be compromised under the new helm. I only wished that you had entered into this part of the entertainment world a little sooner. There would probably been a Firefly in the Amazonverse. Updated review - apologies for the delay. Amazon did not disappoint. Just as compelling and exciting with no apparent compromise in quality or continuity. There are plenty of edge of the seat moments and some tears. The thing is, I had read the books and knew what was going to happen. Very very well done. I would say more and be more specific but that would be telling

This is one of the best SciFi series I have ever seen!!! The complexity and attention to detail is astounding. The realism, action and storyline is fantastic! The characters are well thoughtout and the acting for the most part is superb!! What a great series! I was captivated!! I could not stop watching this series! Simply awesome and so very well done! But, I wish the ending could have been more of an ending. The ending, seemed as though the series was set to continue to a 4th season but in the last few episodes the network decided to end it so they came up with an ending that wasn't really a very good ending, and did not answer the many questions left unanswered about many of the characters. Superb Science Fiction brought to life!

Loved the books. The series video adaptation has great special effects.

You need the discs as no telling when Amazon will take it off Prime!

Very good serie.but-1 star because bluray not subtiled other languages.This is the best science fiction serie and this only in english subtiles english.Why "universal" not subtiles?

I must preface this review by saying that I am a fan of both the books and the TV series. All I might say here has really already been said. All three seasons of "The Expanse" were perfectly written, acted and edited. What they will be saying about this series is about the same as what's being said about the Star Trek and Star Wars sagas today 50 years later: Ground breaking, and history making. The success of any series on TV or in the theatre depends on a great cast and the ensemble in "The Expanse" was either put together by divine providence or genius casting I don't know. But they are all extremely believable characters with an unbeatable chemistry. But this is only one part of many needed to pull off a successful series. The authors of the books the series is based on are remarkable in their own right. They offered the producers and screen writers of "The Expanse" an awesome well spring of information to work with. The biggest complaint I hear about TV series and movie sequels is that they always seem to eventually mess it up. This time however, they got it right. For the first time we get everything all in one series. Great acting, great science based special effects, great editing and a story that never lets up. It is great science fiction with the emphasis on solid (for the most part) science. Long live "The Expanse" . Reviewer's note: I'm beginning to realize now how Jeff Bezos got where he is today. He spotted a winner and now we're going to get season four.

At last, all my questions have been answered! Well, maybe not all, but most of them and that makes this, in my mind, a 5-star season. What is protoplasm? Why is it in our galaxy? What does it do? Where did it come from? These questions have been nagging at me since the earliest episodes of "The Expanse" and in this third season the writers finally let me in on the big secret. Thanks. I have to say at this point that I very much like the ensemble cast and the way in which the writers have given even secondary characters a chance to shine throughout all three seasons. That's especially true, I think, in this third season. I also very much like the state of tension that exists between Earth, Mars, and The Belt because that strikes me as very appropriate given the current state of world affairs. In other words, it makes this series - and especially this season - both relevant and accessible. Great season.

This is really an outstanding show, worth actually a far more realistic look at what life will be like some two hundred years from now- if we can make it to colonizing the solar aysytem dir resources and having humans live extraterrestrially. No gee whiz Star Trek transporters, or warp drive ( mich as I love them, they are far more improbable to be invented within the next two hundred years- if ever) and this show shows us that traversing space will be extremely hard, unforgiving, and dangerous. Season three picks up the pace and brings us into greater human v human dangers as well as the alien life form threat. I only wish they would add Italian, German, soanish, frenchband Japanese to The English only audio menu. Some fine extras with documentaries are included.

Fabulous series!! One of the best ever... If you enjoy Sci Fi you won't be disappointed. Seen 1,2&3 seasons all good! Looking forward the season 4 after Covid 19 has lessened in America. The Characters are interesting & do a great job! Commodities in the future Water, Air & of course Minerals for building more spaceships etc. Well worth a look! Enjoyed THE EXPANSE SERIES. 👍

I enjoyed watching the first two seasons of The Expanse, and the third season hasn't disappointed. It's good to see the continuation of Pax's search for his daughter and how far he's willing to go, as well as his interactions with Amos over the matter. The fallout from Naomi's decision at the end of season two isn't just glossed over, you see it in the rest of the crew. And of course, it's great to see Bobbi's story continue onwards. Having read the books I knew how most of the main story was going to go, but some elements of Bobbi's story surprised me in how it's been adapted, and I approve of the changes. Anyone who likes this series and is also an avid reader, I'd also recommend the books the series is based on. Just like any adaption, there are some differences here and there, and it's interesting to see and read both versions, mentally comparing the subtle chances.
