Review: Sprained finger? Recuperate in Comfort. - My husband purchased this for me after I did something and sprained my finger. (I think I had wrenched it when the silverware drawer accidentally pulled out of its track and I wasn't expecting to catch the entire weight of the drawer on my finger.) My finger's middle joint hurt for about a week until we purchased this finger splint set. I have to tell you that my finger started feeling better from the moment I first put it on my finger. It's super comfortable, and really easy to use. The inner sleeve feels pretty good, and the support of the outer brace is perfect, as it doesn't overcompress the joint, but yet it keeps the joint nicely stabilized. To be honest, it fit so well that I often forgot that I was wearing it. (I accidentally got it wet because I forgot it was on when I put my hand in a bucket of water. Silly me, but seriously, this is a comfortable finger splint!) Within a few days of wearing the splint during the day and night, my finger started to feel better, and I could switch to wearing it at night. By the end of the week, I couldn't tell that I had even injured the finger. Now, to be fair, yes, there was a lot of healing of the injury that may not be attributed to the BodyMoves finger splint. But I'm an older woman, and after I injured the finger, it felt like it was aggravating my arthritis. So I expected the joint to hurt a lot longer than it did. And even if it continued to hurt, wearing the splint was really, really comfortable, and it did a great job stabilizing my finger so that I couldn't do further damage to it. I am grateful that my husband had the forethought to look for this splint and buy it for me. I highly recommend this, should you be in a situation where your knuckle joints hurt on your hands. I don't think you'd be disappointed with the purchase. I certainly wasn't.
Review: Using these for Mallet Finger - The BodyMoves Finger Splints are the best over the counter solution I've found to help my ordeal of a torn tendon which resulted in mallet finger. I'm on my second pair as the damaged finger joint needs to be immobilized for 8 weeks. I'm on week 7. Much to the annoyance of my wife I keep using my hand to get things done around the house. So I have tried a couple different kinds of splints and these ended up being my go-to splints. These splints are easy to get on and off, they are comfortable and adequately padded, and they do serve the intended purpose. You can also bend them easily to the shape you need and it's tough for me to bend them out of shape with a single wrapped finger (although I'm sure there must be someone out there with unbelievable finger strength). I do have a couple of additional observations/suggestions. (1) if you are going to take these on and off a lot, the material the Velcro grabs wears out and they just stop being as secure as I would like. This is true with most excessively used Velcro, so not a defect, just be aware you might need more splints depending on term of use. I just bought my second pair after week 4 of use of the first pair. (2) if you look at the picture, I added a little piece of foam lined metal under the splint wraps to help me keep my finger joint from moving. The foam/metal I added wears out quicker than the BodyMoves Finger Splint does. Again, not a defect of the splint needing these, but I keep using my hand and needed to do this to stop as much joint flexing as I could. The extra metal/foam did help and I don't put it in there all the time. (3) If you need extra support or want to stop these splints from getting dirty get some self adhesive bandage wrap, you can get it in about the same color, and cover the entire splint/finger with it. Just don't make it too tight. I usually do that before working in the yard or when I know I might be lifting heavy objects for some extra support. (4) I have not been getting these wet, other than sweat. Therapy made me a plastic splint for that. But they do get splashed when washing hands and they dry right up. I always have another i can switch to if needed. After yard work I usually swap to a clean splint until first one dries. (5) the straps that Velcro around your finger are a little stretchy, so that's good, so you don't make them too tight, but also bad if you put your hand into your pants or coat/jacket pocket. The splint tends to get stuck and slide right off your finger. Wrapping the entire splinted finger in some self adhesive bandage wrap does help, mainly because it makes it too big to get into some pockets, at least the ones where it would get stuck. So think about what pocket you put your car keys into. (6) most likely, you will not be able to get a glove on with these splints. Not a defect, that's probably the case with most finger splints. So, if it's winter, get a pair of mittens.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I broke my pinky just under my knuckle, will the splint keep it immobile for healing?**
A: I had fractured my pinky, and it would not heal without wearing this splint to bed. I didn't wear it much outside of bed, but it worked very well.

**Q: Can i put this on my thumb?**
A: Yes, it's adjustable. I use it on my ring finger but I checked it out on my thumb and it worked fine.

**Q: how do you wash this?**
A: Instructions say just mild soap and water. I have washed the sleeves and they dried quickly. I have not washed the splint yet.

**Q: Can it prevent a finger third joint where meeting the hand from bending?**
A: No. You need a full hand-brace to do that.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pleasantly surprising solution to my finger problemo
*by B***M on May 27, 2020*

I'm fairly young in my early 30's, and use my computer quite a bit thanks to the lockdown, and found that I injured my right pointer finger from overuse of my mouse. I would probably declare this arthritis or the onset of trigger finger possibly.... Bottom line is I was having issues closing my finger without feeling some pain the more I closed my finger. So I figured I'd get some kind of brace for it and give it a chance and so far I've noticed improvements in the range of motion of my finger again without pains flaring up or my finger getting swollen up. I've been using the elastic sleeves that came with the order over the actual braces because it's less intrusive and functions more naturally for about three weeks now. It's been a slow heal. But I've been keeping the sleeve on my pointer most of the time outside of showering and doing yard work. The sleeve stays on during the night no problem unlike the brace which sometimes wouldn't be on my finger when I woke up. I've noticed, in my case, that it takes a LONG time to see improvements with my own injury and you have to stick with keeping your finger in a sleeve/brace to see improvements. But I can say for myself, this has been a worthwhile purchase though it has been a long journey. At the rate at which my finger is healing, I'm assuming it maybe another month of keeping to this sleeve. Regardless, I'm pumped to know that I no longer have swelling happening, and my range of natural motion has drastically improved over a few weeks. I can other health choices have changed since a few weeks back also that may have helped with healing. I take multivitamins with Omega=3's now, exercise four times a week, drink more water... so who knows how much outside variables maybe also impacting my recovery. The big key for me was to stop the inflammation so my finger could heal, which seems to be working so far. Still recommend trying this if you can relate to my post though. Worth a shot at the very least!
