No grass growing in the shaded area that it is supposed to work for, as well as a bare spot in the middle of my yard that is full sun. If you are adding your own seeds to the mixture, then you could, but if you want to reuse the device just to spread your own seeds, then I don't think they will stick to surfaces. This product did an ok job and grass did grow on some slopes where seeds wouldn't stick before, but the grass is not very "sturdy" and seems to not have deep roots. **Q: Is this just 1 considering on TV or as seen on TV same 100 sq ft product is almost 1/2 this price?** A: It's almost half the price until they charge you extra shipping.
