First, it has sort of a salt-shaker top so I applied glitter primer and then "shook" the glitter on until desired. I also applies it with a makeup brush for more preside designs. It wears well, lastly mostly all day. I would say yes you can use it for 'face painting' **Q: Is this glitter biodegradable?** A: No **Q: Can i use this is lipgloss?** A: I think it would be hard to keep it on. Maybe with the right mixing medium but even then it would scratch. You dab it on your finger and apply. It looks good and stays on all night, but it's not a big bear to remove. Doesn't seem to fleck off onto clothes; a little bit, but not very much at all.
