## Description

silicol® Gel is an oral gel containing colloidal silicic acid for the treatment of upper gastrointestinal disorders. Taken 3 times a day helps manage symptoms and provides relief for gastrointestinal discomfort. Its therapeutic action is due to the large and reactive surface of colloidal silicic acid and its ability to act as an adsorbent. After ingesting the silicol® gel, it forms a protective and soothing coating on the lining of the stomach and intestines. Due to the adsorbing and binding qualities of colloidal silicic acid, it attracts and absorbs physically irritants, toxins and pathogens. This makes them harmless so that they can be removed and passed, as the body naturally empties. Silicic acid can also bind gases and reduce excess acidity.

I used to take Pepto Bismol, but that is quite difficult to get hold of in the UK. These little sachets are a great replacement and perfect for settling and calming a gripey stomach. They have been invaluable when travelling and have allowed me to attend work or social functions without spending the whole time in the bathroom! The main disadvantage of this medicine is that it doesn't taste very nice but at least it does not contain artificial sweeteners or flavourings. Overall, this Silicogel has helped me on many occasions and I always keep a few sachets in my wash bag for emergencies.

Works fantastic for me everytime I have a IBS flare or diarrhoea but only problem after recent blood test they have noticed I am slightly malnourished due to food and medication not being properly absorbed. So be advised if your on medication and food general.
