Review: Trust Wix, save your Engine ! - I trust this Wix brand, I gave them four stars for the price, but they filter better than some of the lower priced off brands.
Review: Great Fit for my Simplicity Lawn Tractor with a Kohler Engine. - I hate my local tractor shop. They are rude and charge ridiculous prices for everything (eg. $100 for a mower carburetor that I bought here on desertcart for $26). Unfortunately they were also the only ones locally that I've found that carry the Kohler-brand filters for my tractor. I decided to turn to desertcart rather than give those jerks any more business. In doing so I learned a couple of things. First, desertcart carries the Kohler filters for less than the local shop does and they are Prime-eligible at the time of this review. Secondly, I can substitute this Wix filter for the Kohler-brand filter and it is even a few bucks less again. Wix makes great filters and Kohler recently changed the construction of theirs, now producing an inferior product. By going with Wix I get a better filter at a lower cost. What isn't to like about that? Oh yeah, the Wix filter was made in the USA too! In case anyone is looking for a filter for their tractor, I have a Simplicity Regent 15 lawn tractor (2002 or 2003 model I believe) with a Kohler Command 15 HP engine in it. I only ordered one filter because I wanted to make sure it fit properly since the genius that designed my tractor put the filter in a bad spot. It spun right on, so I am ordering another one to keep in stock for next spring.

**Q: What is the country of origin for this Wix oil filter?**
A: China. Its not a regular wix 51348 gold filter. They still make filters in US. You can get a wix 51348 gold filter made in the USA from rock auto. Theyre under $6. This is over $9 for the cheaper chinese made version. Side by side the two filters ate visibly different. The box is different size as well.

**Q: If synthetic oil that has Teflon as a part of the part that makes the oil more protective for your engine,do these filters eliminate or trap the good.**
A: No. Oil filters do not trap any components that make up the oil, but rather trap particles of dirt and metal at a microscopic level. I have been using Wix on my personal cars as well as drag racing engines for over 50 years without 1 failure due to impurity's in the oiling system. I have "blown up" a few over the years, but not from dirty oil. Keep it changed!

A: Do you mean a crush washer for the oil drain pug? If yes then no it does not come with one.
