To be honest, it has genuinely scared me in the morning a few times. I woke up thinking someone was screaming at me. It's very annoying having to get up from bed and chase after the alarm clock, but it definitely works. You have the option to choose either the alarm sound (quite robotic, like R2D2), the 'runaway' option, or both at the same time. I always use them both, for maximum effectiveness. It's very easy to set up, as the instructions given are detailed and adequate.The first alarm sent to me was faulty (no sound), so I contacted Amazon for an exchange, and got a new one in one or two days.
