As a non-academic I found the book slow and stodgy. Mainly because the author takes so long to express his opinions and goes to the extreme length to cover one basic theory. My other criticism is the long, drawn out translations but; the central content of colourful, wonderful art was well worth the wait. If you can get through the long drawn out chapters there are some good ideas here.
