Dual-zone snare and tom pads (head + rim) let you do rim-shots and cross-sticks for greater expressivity. The included sound module — with 36 preset kits plus 16 user slots and over 500 sounds drawn from a high-quality sample library — offers a lot of sonic flexibility, covering many musical styles. Build and ergonomics: the steel rack is sturdy, adjustable, and stable. The kick-tower supports double pedals. Setup is straightforward, and the spacing and adjustability are good even for adult drummers. Extras: Bluetooth/Aux-in to jam along with music, USB/MIDI for recording or virtual instrument use, and built-in metronome/recorder/sequencer for practice or producing. 👎 Where it shows its limitations The cymbal pads are single-zone (usually no separate bell, edge, bow articulations), limiting realism and nuance compared with higher-end kits. Some users find certain onboard sounds (especially cymbals or certain drum patches) “only average” — fine for practice or home use, but likely not good enough for serious recording or live performance. For more advanced techniques (like expressive open/close hi-hat control, very dynamic cymbal work, or realistic double-bass pedal feel), the kit may feel somewhat limited — many drummers eventually outgrow it or upgrade to a higher-end electronic or acoustic set. Just starting out, excellent piece of kit and easy to put together. I bought this as a bundle with the throne and headphones, should have just bought the drums and got the rest elsewhere. Throne wasn't the best and the headphones seemed cheap and nasty. But, the kit itself is aewsome and well worth the buy. Would buy ot again.

Brilliant kit - easy to assemble, really well packaged. I’m starting out and this feels like such a good kit and the sounds are incredible. Haven’t got my head round the controller fully yet but very happy customer!

This is a pretty solid kit for the price. It's got some pro's and con's tho, so I'll try to organise my thoughts... -It's got some pretty good kit sounds in the controller. There's a range of rock, pop, reggae and more niche sounds that will probably never be used. But they sound good and I think it has the ability to load more. -The Bluetooth works brilliantly and I was able to connect to my PC easily. It transmits sound to the Drum controller which plays it to you through the headphones to practice to, which is pretty cool. It means that you can boot up Youtube and play along with the drums as a sounds device. -It was just as simple to connect as a MIDI controller with a USB lead and was recognised by Cubase and EZDrummer, so I can use those soundpack's to record with, although some drum maps might be different. -The cymbals aren't anywhere near as "Dual Zone" as advertised and one of the 3 was a single zoned controller, for some reason. They are decently pressure controlled. But I can't destinguish any difference in sound. Some of the kits have crash mutes on the tom-rims, which is a little odd. -The build quality is pretty decent and the stability is quite good. Although all of the brackets and connecting clamps are made out of plastic...which I don't like at all. I'm constantly readjusting the clamps to stabilise it and the strength of Bruce Banner on his worst day is needed to get them tight enough to stay put for more than a song. -The controller display is very basic. It lists kits and sounds as numbers only and it's a pain in the ass to program a new user. kit from scratch. The buttons aren't very clear about what they control either and there's a lot of trial and error involved, often requiring you to start again when the wrong selection is pressed. -The manual isn't a lot of help either, really. it's just an A3 sheet, folded into multilingual segments with an explanations of the buttons on the control unit, but no info on the kits, etc. For my purposes, which is to finally get around to learning how to play and use as a simple MIDI controller...it's fine. But I wouldn't advise it for anyone who needs to cart to gigs or is looking for something to play more dynamically with.

This drum set is great. The colour is lovely, like a dark woody red and all features are great for an intermediate player. It was quite easy to put together too.

Simple set up, great response. This is a fantastic pro kit for the price.

All of my expectations for this kit have been surpassed. I purchased mine about 3 months ago, with the intention of teaching myself as a complete beginner. The mesh heads feel EXCELLENT. The response of the triggers is excellent. For me-- virtually indistinguishable from an acoustic kit. Comparable to much more expensive E-kits. The shells are gorgeous! I can't say enough positive about this kit. I have played it multiple hours daily since it arrived and I've just been falling more and more in love with it. Excellent purchase. The drum module has excellent functionality, although I found the preset kits to be a little "eh" I would have preferred heavier sounding kits but there is nothing to complain about-- there is a nice selection However, where this kit truly shines --- is connected to a DAW using a VST Drum Kit plugin. Absolute game changer. This is THE best midi controller available for the price point in this regard. PLUS the additional bonus of being able to add another Tom and Cymbal to the kit for a girl's of 4 toms and 3 cymbal pads. Truly one of the best pieces of musical equipment I've purchased. My ONLY big complaint is it seems sometimes under certain circumstances (hitting multiple drums at once) only a single trigger registers. It's usually with a snare and a Tom's rim sensor. I am confident in Alesis' customer service though. The best in the business. 10/10 would purchase again.

Nice kit but very complicated to set up with the module. I downloaded the manual and it helps but trying to get the volume to an acceptable level is almost impossible. The max volume through the module is very poor, and for me to try and run the kit through an extension speaker, well you need to be an electronics geneious and have a fat wallet for the extra bits. The kit itself is fine , drums etc all okay once you take the time to go through the menu and sort things out. Excellent quality, easy assembly and looks good very professional
