It's a flavor that I associate with German potato salad and great soups with the depth of flavor Maggi provides. It is smokier and richer than soy sauce, but with a strong umami kick to it. A little goes a long way. I made matzo ball soup and added just a bit of Maggi and it elevated it so much. This is my daughter's favorite soup now.

I love this stuff! I add it to vegetables, rice, potatoes, noodles...You name it. The product comes well packaged, and no leaks. The price is a little much, but the Maggi with the red cap is made in Germany or Austria and is the authentic brand. The one with the yellow cap is made in China, so be sure to buy the red capped one.
