My old board would trap moisture between the metal board and pad that would eventually cause the ironing pad and cover to become wet. The extra few inches in width is really helpful and means less moving of the fabric. This board also adjusts to a higher position than my old board, so it’s easier for taller people. Also really like the tray at the end of the board. Plenty of room for my iron and a spray bottle. Definitely not a light weight board like some of the less expensive ones I’ve had from big box stores over the years. Worth the investment.

I use a cordless iron with a base, and the platform to hold it is very nice to have. The platform is a good size and I can even keep my snips, water bottle, and ruler on it too. The other thing I like is that this ironing board can be raised as high as ~38" and since I'm tall (~5'11") this works well for me. As for negatives, there are not many. It is sturdy, but not quite as sturdy as I was hoping. It does rock a little bit and shift more than I was expecting when pressure is applied. However, I suppose my expectations might be unrealistic. It is still much sturdier than my old one.

Very sturdy and stable ironing surface. I like that the board is a mesh steel under the pad so steam passes through. My old board would trap moisture between the metal board and pad that would eventually cause the ironing pad and cover to become wet. The extra few inches in width is really helpful and means less moving of the fabric. This board also adjusts to a higher position than my old board, so it’s easier for taller people. Also really like the tray at the end of the board. Plenty of room for my iron and a spray bottle. Definitely not a light weight board like some of the less expensive ones I’ve had from big box stores over the years. Worth the investment.

I am glad I purchased this ironing board. It is sturdy and the tray holds my Rowenta steam generating iron without sagging. The cats can jump on it and off it without having the board move. They know they are not allowed on it so they are on and off in a few seconds with less than graceful jumps. This board also works well for a 6' 5" man who usually had to iron hunched over smaller boards. He likes the longer and wider board size so he is not having to move his clothes around. I sew and and knit, the board is a good size, doesn't get soggy when I block my knitting, and the pad that comes with it is thick enough not to show the metal mesh pattern. The board is not perfect, I would love to see it have an extension cord and a plug for the steam generator like my board in Germany had, and I did add a thin pad. Taking it down is not as easy as I would like, you have to stand it up straight, but I understand why it functions as it does. The price was a bit much, but given what is available here in the US for $30 or so less...
