Hopefully the instructions for your water softener will have a list of settings based on one of the scales. **Q: Does this strip test for fluoride level? Or is water hardness something completely different?** A: No it doesn't test fluoride levels. Water hardness is how the water affects furring up of kettles etc. The colour the strip turns out indicates how hard the water is. You then relate that to settings for a water softener or filter. **Q: Is there a best before date please?** A: Yes there is a best before date. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy and Useful for Checking Water Hardness *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 May 2026* I bought these test strips to check the water hardness for my coffee machine, since I use a water filter and need to adjust the settings according to the hardness level. They were very easy to use and gave clear results quickly. A practical and useful product if you want to properly maintain your coffee machine and set up the filter correctly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very simple to use - but measurement is on a wide scale. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 16 July 2026* Very easy to use. Gives instant result. Although the bands of hardness are quite wide, so you won't be able to get a specific measurement (there are other kits available for this). The other thing to know is that Water Hardness seems to be measured in several different units. I used Copilot to convert the reading from this kit (ppm) to what my Bosch dishwasher wanted me to tell it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simple way to check your filter *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 17 December 2025* Really good kit. The water in London is very hard, and I needed to test it to check if my filter was working. These strips are very useful, they’re easy to use . ## Frequently Bought Together - SimplexHealth Total Hardness Water Test Strips (10 Strips) - Finish Salt Bag 2 kg --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/65384418-total-hardness-water-test-strips-10-strips-3-second-testing](https://www.desertcart.no/products/65384418-total-hardness-water-test-strips-10-strips-3-second-testing) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
