Saves money by reducing energy loss year round. Total height of seal including "P" is 1-3/4". "P" bulb width is 1-1/4" O.D. with a height of 1-3/8" O.D. I had to crimp the slot it goes in to keep it in place. My door is also old, and I couldn't tell if the slot had opened a little over the years, or if the bead on the seal was smaller than needed.
