I've been using to listen to my collection of CDs and DVDs, it read all the discs, also was able to import songs in Apple Music. Best at this price! If connecting to Mac, you need a type c converter, the provided type c in the cable could be used to power the CD player in case it doesn't turn on. For me it worked without need to power it separately. No difficulty reading scratched CD's.
