"Victorious . . . the premier queer-friendly fairy tale." Kirkus Reviews, starred review "An illuminating fairy tale for young readers to be able to see that not every prince would like to marry a princess." School Library Journal "A colorful and entertaining tale exploring sexuality, acceptance, and young love." Booklist In this modern fairy tale, a noble prince and a brave knight come together to defeat a terrible monster and in the process find true love in a most unexpected place. "Thank you," he told his parents. "I appreciate that you tried, but I'm looking for something special in a partner by my side." Once upon a time, in a kingdom far from here, there was a prince in line to take the throne, so his parents set out to find him a kind and worthy bride. The three of them traveled the land far and wide, but the prince didn't quite find what he was looking for in the princesses they met. While they were away, a terrible dragon threatened their land, and all the soldiers fled. The prince rushed back to save his kingdom from the perilous beast and was met by a brave knight in a suit of brightly shining armor. Together they fought the dragon and discovered that special something the prince was looking for all along. Review: Nice and short read for bed time - Prince & Knight has great art with much more space dedicated to pictures than words. Because it has 3 and 4-syllable words (e.g., appreciate, villagers, overwhelmed), it may be difficult for those just learning to read. But it's perfect for reading to your kids as a bedtime story. It's not too long - you can finish it in 20-minutes even taking time to look at the gorgeous pictures. The story wonderfully affirms same sex relationships with complete acceptance and no stigma. It presents them publicly accepted as they should be. This endearing story makes a great bedtime read and I recommend it to all. Review: No politicizing, beautiful love story. - Love love love this book! The pictures are beautiful, colorful, and engaging for even my 5 month old. The story is written very well with a fun cadence. My favorite aspect of this is how it is nothing more than a simple little fairy tale love story that happens to be about to men. No politicizing, no meaningful statements... Just love being love and normal. Neither man is overly butch or feminized, either. But they're both heroes! Love reading this with my son and having this means if helping him understand that if he loves another man, it's natural and okay and we'll celebrate that love with him.

The perfect gift for any new parents, for any old people, for children and for pets.
Such a sweet book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is just as gorgeous. A must read for all children (and all parents and caregivers)! I dare you to rad this book and not be touched to tears thinking about to projection of how important stories like this one are to all young minds. Love is love no matter how it looks and it’s such an easy concept that if we teach it to youngsters now, maybe one day they can live in a world where homophobia and bigotry don’t exist! Prince & Knight is on my shelf proudly and I don’t even have any kids yet to read it to.

A beautiful heartwarming book that isn't preachy
This was a holiday gift for my 5-year-old nephew, bought on the suggestion of my librarian friend who has a copy for themself. We're slowly introducing more queer subjects to my nephew, who has always known me as "Uncle Dill" and used they/them pronouns. This book is not only sweet but has the most beautiful illustrations. The story flows effortlessly, allowing for the progression of characters and arc. There's not a trace of homophobia or non-acceptance, which warms my heart! Queer Princes are just queer princes, allowed to marry the Knights of their heart's choosing. I love this book and would adore more like it.

So Good I Almost Cried
This book is ADORABLE. The style is sweet and whimsical, the story is cute and endearing. I read this to my five-year-old daughter, she was a little confused at first about a "boy marrying a boy instead of any of those princesses". I used this as the gateway to explaining that anyone can marry anyone. This is the first piece of LGTBQA+ children's literature I've ever read, and I have to admit, I got super choked up right towards the end just thinking about how far we've come. We have to teach our children inclusion early on- they're going to build a better, kinder future!

In love with the story
I can't stress enough how beautiful and necessary this book is, and that we teach our kids that love is love no matter how from an early age. Kudos to the authors!

Beautiful
The art is gorgeous and the story is just beautiful. Enough fun and excitement to keep my four year old boy’s attention (the dragon fight is great) and a lovely, natural romance. An incredibly important book.

Awesome book! 10/10
I loooove this book! I read it to my two kids (5 and 3 years) very often. What I liked best is that it doesn't actually make the gay part an issue. It's just the way it is. The price falls for the knight. Just like the Prince falls for the princess in every other book. It's normalising the 'issue' very well. My boy loves the part about the dragon ❤️ The rhymes are lovely too. We're not native English speakers but understand everything very well.
