Description
Indie/ Postrock.. Stream: www.denovali.com/hernameiscalla For fans of Godspeed You Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion etc. and already a classic of the genre. Repress of the Her Name Is Calla debut album HERITAGE from 2008. Formed in 2003 out of a desire to create music that had a more emotional core, Her Name is Calla have since expanded to a five piece band. The music they make is the music they want to make. Encapsulating brass, strings, pianos, oddities and anything else at their disposal, they craft songs and music that have a heart. That heart may not always be the one people are used to, not the bright red shining symbol of love and hope, but a heart somehow more personal. "" there can be no denying that Her Name Is Calla are one of the most daring, unconventional bands the UK has to offer right now. For that alone we should all be exceedingly thankful."" (8/ 10 DrownedInSound) With John Helps from MAYBESHEWILL on bass. CD digipak / Vinyl: thick covers + thick printed inner sleeves, 180g vinyl, different vinyl colours, free download.

This is a Brilliantly Original Piece of Music
This is one of the most original pieces of music I have ever bought. It is dark, brooding rock music, and the singer's voice will be echoing in your ears after its done. The albums sound is dominated by the weird trippy production that glitches and twitches in the dark places surrounding the music, the noises fill in the silence between the tracks, making it feel like a cohesive whole. The songs themselves build from nothing into huge sounding walls of noise, check out the end of New England, one of the finest tracks i've heard in the last few years.I for one can't wait to hear what this inventive band come up with next.
