In My Own Bed

This book has been a genuinely helpful addition to our bedtime routine. The topic of sleeping independently can be surprisingly emotional for young children, and Lovevery In My Own Bed (Tricky Topics) handles it with warmth and clarity without talking down to them. The language is simple but respectful, and the illustrations feel calm rather than overstimulating, which matters a lot at the end of the day. My child immediately recognized herself in the story, and that recognition made conversations about bedtime feel less like a power struggle and more like a shared plan. What I appreciate most is how the book supports consistency without pressure or shame. It gave us a common reference point, so instead of repeating instructions or negotiating endlessly, we could say, “Just like in the book.” That small shift reduced bedtime anxiety for everyone in the house. Over time, bedtime became more predictable and less emotionally charged, which has improved our evenings and our sleep. This book does not magically fix everything overnight, but it meaningfully supports healthy routines and emotional security, which is exactly what I want from a product designed for young children.

Spectacular book for kiddos transitioning to bed ! We read it about 1 week in advance and it really helped.

This book is so wonderful! I absolutely love how this book is from the perspective of the child. The writing is so respectful of what a young child goes through in this transition from crib to bed, and I love how loving and supportive the parents are as well. It is so well- done! The photos of the family in their home are beautiful and engaging, and it is always so interesting for kids to see photos of other kids in picture books. On the back of the book is a QR code that you can scan and listen to a wonderful kid's song about kids moving from a crib to a bed. It is very charming and catchy, and this book is a delight to read. My kids and I love it!

The Lovevery books are the best! I think we have about 7 of them. They are definite favorites here! My two year old granddaughter requests that I read these books over and over again. This one is one of the most requested by her. They are excellent books as they explore emotions while teaching children valuable lessons. She loves all of the kids' pictures in these books. I will always choose to pay a few dollars more for these books because of how loved they are.

So helpful for my two year old. The text is simple and easy to understand but touches on several important details (i.e. why we’re transitioning, what that looks like, feelings we might experience, expectations for staying in bed, and strategies for staying in bed and falling back asleep). The lovevery books are like social stories and I am the biggest fan. The photos make the stories realistic and relatable. Something clicked in my son’s head when he saw the photo of mommy and daddy sleeping in their own bed at the same time as the child sleeping in her own bed. Highly recommend!

I liked the book overall but the topic wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. This is about moving from a crib to a toddler bed. I thought it was about staying in bed.

My kid loves all the Lovevery books. Be sure to check out the song on their spotify playlist.

Lovevery books are worth every penny helped my daughter transition from her crib to bed
